Every single law that has the potential for misuse, be it Section 498A IPC, the DV Act, 2005, or the Atrocities Act, is already being misused in this country.

And now this minister is offering nothing but an “aashvaasan ka jhunjhuna” over concerns about yet another regulation waiting to be misused.

As if his verbal assurance has any value against a written, constitutionally backed provision that clearly defines caste-based discrimination as discrimination solely on the basis of caste or tribe against members of SCs, STs, and OBCs.

For 6 years was on 2 different University campuses for my btech & mtech. And never once, have I seen or heard any slur or mocking made against any one based on caste.

Many of my friends who are from different communities, be it sc, st or obc, used to sit, chitchat and have fun for hours. Even today, after so many years we are in touch.

This ugc guidelines have been made by vile people who have insidious intention, solely for political gains. It will only create rift between students and will overall make negative environment on campus.

Better to completely roll out than to do any reforms.
