What an UNBELIEVABLE season for Miami:
-Made 1st ever CFP as the No. 10 seed
-Took down the reigning champs (OSU)
-FOUR wins vs. Top 10 opponents
-Silenced doubters and made it to the Natty in their home state
-Were 1 play away from winning a title

What the CFP rankings SHOULD look like:
1. Ohio State (12-0)
2. Indiana (12-0)
3. Texas Tech (11-1)
4. Georgia (11-1)
5. Ole Miss (11-1)
6. BYU (11-1)
7. Texas A&M (11-1)
8. Oregon (11-1)
9. Miami (10-2)
10. Notre Dame (10-2)
11. Oklahoma (10-2)
12. Alabama (10-2)
BYU should be in as an 11-1 team in a power conference.
Miami should be in by way of H2H over Notre Dame. Miami beat FSU while Alabama lost to the 5-7 Noles by 14.
Notre Dame would be in, but could get bounced if Alabama wins the SEC.
Conference Championship week would have COLOSSAL meaning:
โข Alabama is in a win-and-in, lose-and-out scenario.
โข Notre Dame not having the possibility for an autobid and sitting out during conference title week could cost them.
โข Winner of BYU/Texas Tech gets the first round bye week, loser has to play the extra game.
The importance of each week of the regular season would still be highly valued:
โข Notre Dame-Miami
โข Alabama-Florida State
โข Miami-Florida State
โข Oklahoma-Alabama
โข Ole Miss-Oklahoma
โข Alabama-Vanderbilt
โข Texas A&Mโs rivalry week loss costs them a bye week
โข + others
Conference championships matter, no loser of a conference championship is dropped out for playing the extra game (Alabama is already out of the field with the other two autobids jumping in and if they lose theyโd just stay as one of the first teams out), the regular season still has enormous value, and head-to-heads are honored.
