@Mayor__McCheez@Polymarket Yes it should, goes to show she’s a piece of shit. If she’s willing to do that in public infront of everyone, what shit is she willing to do when she thinks no one will find out
This is a county problem! Broward County's property tax collections have increased by over 50% since 2020, and none of that money goes to the state. You should be asking why, if the county has been bringing in hundreds of millions more each year for the last 5 years, why have they not been funding their teachers?

No, what is catastrophic to the county is these incompetent buffoons! Failure after failure, they blame others and won’t take responsibility for their lack of fiduciary duty! From the fuel depot issue to the millions spent on useless EV buses rotting in a parking lot, it is clear that we cannot trust these county administrators with our taxpayer dollars. Incompetence from the top down, and they have the gall to call the homestead exemption expansion catastrophic to the county.
Hundreds of millions in F-ups on their part, yet the taxpayer is supposed to foot the bill?! While they get hefty salaries?! BS!
@MiamiHerald And we’re supposed to trust this administration with our taxpayer dollars? Incompetence from the top down, and they have the gall to say the homestead exemption expansion would be catastrophic to the county. No, what is catastrophic to the county is these incompetent buffoons!
As a Miami Springs resident he’s done a great job and sad that we are losing him. This is why people hate mainstream media, they interview someone and turn it into a hit piece focusing only on what they ‘feel’ is something bad. Miami Springs is very different than Doral or Hialeah. The the amount of crime that goes on along 36th St. corridor of the airport, where all of the Motel and hotels are is a major hotspot that Doral does not have and although hialeah does have some of this, the amount of people that transit the area differs greatly due to the proximity to the airport.
The Herald is just nit picking so they can have something negative to write about him since he will be the new chief in Doral which is were the Heralds facility is located
@doug_hanks@MayorDaniella And we’re supposed to trust this administration with our taxpayer dollars? Incompetence from the top down, and they have the gall to say the homestead exemption expansion would be catastrophic to the county. It's an obvious hit piece because they mentioned nothing positive about him. Do you really believe they asked him no interview questions other than about immigration? You think the Herald called him and said, "Hey, we want to interview you on the great job you're doing enforcing immigration"? Of course not. I guarantee they asked other questions not related to immigration but they purposely left that out of this article because it does not align with there agenda.
Again, I think we should prioritize fixing the biggest problems first, which are local government fraud and wasteful spending which is way more than homestead exemption fraud.
Estimates for homestead exemption fraud are between 1-3 percent of all exemptions. I agree with eliminating it, but local governments would have to increase their budget allowance for investigating and prosecuting that fraud, which they have not done because they likely believe it will cost more than what they will regain.
Remember in 1992 when the Save Our Homes cap was proposed, local governments were screaming and crying, same as they are now, that the world will end. Nope, everything turned out just fine, and thank God it passed, otherwise only the rich would be able to own a home anywhere in Florida!
@SunSentinel Brother we’re not cutting them off.. do some research, most are collecting close to double what the collections were just 6 years ago. inflation nor population growth account for that massive amount of increase.
It’s pretty simple. These counties can reduce their budgets to what they were just 3 years ago and they will be perfectly fine. Let’s stop making extremely bloated, inefficient, corrupt, and self-serving local governments acceptable!
They have been raising their budgets every year not because they need to but because they can. Of course, now that some controls are being put in place, they scream and cry that the world will end. Figure it out—there’s more than enough money to go around!
So you're saying let's punish the majority of homeowners because some percentage of the homestead exemptions are fraudulent?
If that's the case, let's ban all tax collections until all fraud is eliminated from all local governments.
In essence, I agree with you, let's fix fraud first! Not another dollar towards taxes until all fraud has been eliminated!
@HollyBullardFL We don’t have to fund the politicians corruption. They can reduce there budget to what it was just 3 years ago and they will be perfectly fine
@JAHattaway No, we just know what we were paying 5-6 years ago for the same services and now its almost double. Sometimes if it can’t be fixed you have to let it burn down so it can be reset
@MiamiHerald The Miami Herald is going all out against these tax breaks, just like they did for Andrew Gillum to be governor! I think they should stay out of politics based on the train wreck that would have been!
@MiamiHerald Based on the Miami Herald’s 2018 analysis that Andrew Gillum would be the best option for governor, I think you should stay out of politics based on the train wreck that would have been!!
@FadhNordin@Scott7858868020 Is the camera going to do the repair also? Trust me if they are doing it this ways, it’s because it’s the most efficient/ economical way to do it .
