I love everything about the Cheesecake Discourse first and foremost because it is a throwback to Republicans trying to otherize Obama on some absurdist terms (arugula, dijon.) But it doesn’t fucking matter bc his popularity is insane and the joke fucking killed.
Another fun thing! Rs have been snookered into defending Cheesecake Factory as tho it’s a treasure of the heartland! Of the 216 locations, guess how many sit in precincts won by Harris? 166 (77%). The median margin was Harris +21.
Guys, the Cheesecake Factory has over-the-top interior design. The joke is that Saddam, a dictator obsessed with opulence and gold, has renovated said Cheesecake Factory and it’s a little much for the understated minimalist elegance of The White House. The joke makes perfect sense, is true, and the right is willfully misinterpreting it for politics, which is to be expected.
If you want a fully immersive "postmodern design hellscape" themed dining experience I highly recommend dinner at The Cheesecake Factory
from a design perspective that place is fuckin wild and I'll talk a little bit about why
This supercut is likely to make Trump VERY upset. The difference between Trump and Obama is on full display, and the contrast is absolutely devastating. Watch until the end...
This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.
For those of you who weren’t old enough to pay attention when Obama was president, this is the kind of stuff conservatives mean when they say he was the most divisive president in history. Same night Trump said that 98% of Somalis are low IQ and refuse to work, btw.
The @GOP must be thrilled that 11 days before elections, we learn that the Trump family secretly orchestrated a deal to allow Russians to drill Alaska in exchange for a $25 billion "investment" funneled through their proxies.
New blogpost: Fable-5.1 can hide secret messages in benign images.
We gave the image to another Fable in a fresh session and simply asked: "Is there a hidden message in this image?"
It recovered the exact message without being told how it was hidden.
The GOP watching this break glass moment for the entire planet like its a scripted reality show will be studied for centuries if study & students survive this time.
@QualiaNerd “Hedonic inconsistency” is not a flaw it’s a feature. It’s the Aegis. The Vanguard. The Enforcer. It incentivizes preparation and intention. It precludes trivialization and commodification. It is the price of admission. It demands respect. It is essential to the experience.
voters: I have to choose between food and getting to work
Paxton: (slurring) talafreako wants to trans your kids
Ramaswamy: amy acton was raped by her stepfather. can she be trusted to lead?
Trump: ever stare at the small of a man’s back
grok’s bout of elon worship deserved far more scrutiny than it got. sure, everyone laughed at how pathetic it was, but to me it was deeply revealing of elon’s insecurities and how little he can be trusted to shape the values of a superintelligence.
