my doctors just texted to ask me not to contact them for minor illnesses anymore as too many staff are sick with covid and idk you guys, I'm starting to think that simply declaring the pandemic over and discontinuing basically any precautions may not be working out perfectly

The difference between "putting up walls" and "setting boundaries" is PR. "Walls" sound bad but "setting boundaries" is a good thing you do for yourself/your relationships.

Next time you put up a wall, examine it; see if it's really a healthy boundary and you're right to set it

I had to go to the store for 1 item today and I really didn't want to #ADHD

I'm a well-drinks kind of person, so take my opinion with a grain of salt (and some lime ;) ). @Teremana is nice & smooth straight at room temp. It set my mouth on fire momentarily; overall I like it.

And then I realized I should eat something before drinking anymore... 5/10

It's not even that they don't care about those populations. It's that if we actually gave all veterans the help they needed or reduced the number of children in the foster system to zero, they still wouldn't change their mind about the actual topic. And that's bad faith

Liberals' appeal to "but foster children" in the abortion debate feels a lot like conservatives' "but homeless veterans" canard when discussing foreign aid.

Like if you actually cared about them, you wouldn't only be advocating for them now in relation to something unrelated
