In Borneo, they use wheelbarrows to transport baby orangutans around sanctuaries to lighten their keeper’s load. At Mawarra PS, @beachie71 uses a Bunnings cart to transport her iPads from class-to-class, same base function! Necessity is the mother of invention! Love this school.
Pictured here is the VERY talented artwork by year 5 teacher Emily who has REALLY imbued her passion for art with iPads in her year 5 class... I can’t wait to see what the students will create from this new learning. @beachie71
On a rainy Friday afternoon at the end of a big education week, 10+ teachers at Mawarra PS turned up to an after school PD on Sketches School to create great graphics for Science, THAT speaks volumes of the dedication and authenticity of this school’s iPad journey...
Simone Maciel @AugLearning with CT Emily, admiring artwork using keynote to emulate the work of contemporary Australian artist Britt Em....Thanks Emily for transferring your new understandings & Simone for the PL @beachie71 Mawarra Public School
Year 3 at Mawarra PS are making their own picture books using #sketchesschool to draw their pages. They will pick up where Noah Dreary left off and create narratives where he goes out to be helpful in the world. #EveryoneCanCreate
Bathurst! Spent my day adding a bit of colour & creativity to some year 2 English, Science & History programs @ Cathedral Catholic Primary School in Bathurst today. Transferable tasks, applicable across all curricula with engaged students! How’s your pedagogy? #everyonecancreate
I love watching diligent teachers be able to execute an iPad PL confidently and quickly to ensure student success. Mawarra PS, WINNING in their iPads for Learning program.
Students in year 4 at Mawarra PS used Keynote draw and animation tools to create a character profile of Mr Morris Lessmore, they added text to describe their characters and have been tasked with audio recording full sentences to tie the animation and text boxes together.
Spent my day with my tribespeople at Mawarra PS planning for a great term of iPad PL across stage 2. I was then privileged to run an after school session on creating Pages templates for student journaling. Best job on planet earth. Thanks @beachie71 for investing in authentic PL.
@AugLearning Will pass your well wishes to our staff. Very worrying times. Prayers needed for calm conditions to allow our brave firefighters to do their thing!
Just had a light bulb moment with the year 1/2 composite class teacher at Mawarra PS, who after 3 in situ PL lessons just explained how much she had benefited from the activities by confirming that she can now “forwards plan instead of backwards map”. EXCELLENT! Made my day
@AugLearning We are so fortunate to be working with such an amazing educator. Staff are so inspired and confident to implement ideas as part of their teaching.
Super day out at Mawarra PS, four stage 1 classes, one hour each all completing #drawandtell activities, all completely different lessons followed by a green screening teacher PD. My favourite video was an empathy task in response to the picture book “My Two Blankets”.
