It was a treat to see a retrospective of work by @marianbruceartist today at Merchant House as part of @frome.festival which displayed 40 years of work! It’s always an bonus to get a peak into an artists studio too! It’s the last day tomorrow.

Sorry moth
A heavy-handed accident when attempting to gently expel a moth from my bathroom left a tiny shimmering gold-leaf effect print in the palm of my hand

@Truckfest_Live Hi! I want to book tickets for Truckfest south west as a Father’s Day gift. Where can I see a program please so I know which day to book?
Thanks.
It was a delight to see work by some of my all time favourite feminist artists @giantartgallery today in the ‘Body Poetics’ exhibition cutrated by @beccapf and @marcelle.joseph , and also great to hear Becca Pelly Fry talking about the art in relation to magic and mysticism.
As it’s Mother’s Day I thought I’d post this gorgeous painting by my awesome mum Gill Watson, still untitled as of yet. I like the way the background seems to be moving and ephemeral whilst the object in front stands strong….a bit like my mum!

Happy Valentine’s Day all!

I made this etching a few years back as part of the series “I Think I Lick You”. Couples licked the surface of etching plates which were layered on top of each other to form kisses on the paper. This one belongs to my dear Mum and Dad.
It was a pleasure to make these life casts of my brother and sister-in-laws hands as well as their son’s foot recently. I’m always excited by the level of detail the alginate picks up, revealing every finger print ridge and pore.

Baby love bite
I’m fascinated by bruises as a form of print. They reveal our interactions with the world. When inspected closely they can be quite beautiful, resembling clouds at sunset.
I didn’t notice my baby had been sucking on my shoulder. Split capillaries under the skin.

This extensive series of rubbings document different ailments graffitied onto over-bed tables in a boarding school medical centre by sickly students.

Join us tonight for the opening of ‘Hybrids’; a group exhibition as part of #impact12 print conference @cfpr_research @uwebristol . F Block Gallery, Bower Ashton Campus from 5:30pm.
I am showing part of the CremArt series of monoprints made using animal cremains as pigment.
A week ago I gave birth to my son at 60mph in the passengers seat of my old Honda Jazz on the way to hospital. Despite the circumstances, it was the most magical experience of my life. Paying a little homage to Tracey Emin’s ‘My Bed’, I thought I’d photograph the aftermath…..
Artist @BeaHaines uses mediums of human & animal ash with amazing results. She "combines a forensic sterile aesthetic and deep emotional weight, much of my work explores the way we deal with death as humans and aims to encourage dialogue about this inevitable but taboo subject."
