@TheFourthPeriod@Spartysupporter So they expected him to be a top 4 D when they made that trade lol? (BTW, he was their top D during the stretch run to make the playoffs.) Please just say you "misspoke"
@KadriSens What I mean is that Montreal has a much better prospect pool. (I also think they have more picks, but that may have been more in the past.) They can acquire a top pair D, like Dobson, without subtracting from the current roster
@KadriSens Anything can happen in a given year. But Montreal is definitely the future of the East. They have so many assets (prospects and picks) that it becomes easier to make a Dobson type of trade. The Sens can try to do something about it, but I'm not sure it's possible at this point
@GraemeNichols Yeah, I was mostly referring to next year. The real future challenge will be to try to keep up with Montreal, who's core is very young and they have so many assets to use to make themselves better. I don't see Yorkie's assertion of internal growth being enough
@ComingInHotSens@localpodcaster@jasonyork33@GraemeNichols@bet365ca The sens will be stuck fighting for a wildcard spot for the foreseeable future. This is mostly due to half-assed rebuild. Not much can be done now. Maybe they make the playoffs and get on a roll with hot goaltending i.e. get lucky
@ComingInHotSens@localpodcaster@MGLawyers They have one of the worst prospect pools in the league and the (untradeable) 32nd pick. Not sure how they can be aggressive without subtracting a key piece
