Behind the vulgar and ableist comments lies a hilariously wholesome community.

Happy to share: a qualitative study of r/wallstreetbets, class project from Design of Online Communities class 2020 by @beapalaces Christian Boylston and Plamen Tassev. (Not peer reviewed, but got an A!)

This.

This is the argument I make in my book. For-profit companies can never do the right thing for individuals or communities.

New: The Holocaust Museum of LA offered Kanye West a private tour, hoping it would change his views. West turned their invitation down, and said “Planned Parenthood" was his “Holocaust museum.” Now, the LA Holocaust museum is being flooded with antisemitic messages and threats.

@ivonneharting Es medio tonto lo que hacen, pero en realidad no afecta la obra en si, porque está protegida por un vidrio 🤷🏻‍♀️

@minara93 @IAmMalaFide @mayhplumb @Chops1586 Purely anecdotal: I know 2 families where the youngest kids started speaking much later than usual because parents spoke Spanish at home, but older siblings + daycare was all in English. A third family I know overcame this by having mom speak only Spanish, and dad only English.

I was sleepy today before a lab meeting. My labmate jokingly suggested we all exercise during the meeting. They convened all the other students to join us for a Zumba warmup to get energized before our advisor arrived. Supportive friends are the best. 🥹

@SachinPendse For a second I thought this new chemical formula would be how Yoda would say R2D2 😂

You know you live in an amazing place when 7 nearby facilities open their doors at any hour to help pilots & crew dry out 50 massive hot air balloons! Rain or shine, New Mexicans support #BalloonFiesta! #ProjectDryOut #community https://t.co/1D9kFZraba

I've said it many times, but I've kept forgetting my own advice: do not update your devices on a workday, especially right before a deadline. 🙃

[Beatriz Palacios @beapalaces]

@JCherieee_ I’m with you there! I tried desperately once using the text-to-speech feature on my PDF reader for a paper. The robot voice was too unpleasant.

[Beatriz Palacios @beapalaces]

Yo fui una de esas insoportables. 🤪 Live and let live, babes.
