@prestonjbyrne @patmillertime What does that have to do with anything though? The asset that was renamed XRP was held and transferred long before that.
@prestonjbyrne @patmillertime Do you think we got everything right with our very first ledger stream? Do you think we wrote code to hold and transfer a digital asset and didn't use it?
@prestonjbyrne @patmillertime Except it wasn't because Ripple didn't exist then. The founders were able to hold and transfer XRP before the entity now named Ripple existed. Perhaps the reason we "run away from such an achievement" is because we care about the truth.
@prestonjbyrne @patmillertime This is absolute nonsense. Bitcoin now features segwit support, but it existed before segwit support existed. That IP was not required to hold or transfer XRP.
@prestonjbyrne @patmillertime So XRP began to exist when it was released to the public, even though people held it and transferred it before then? Why pick that point? Why not say it didn't exist until it was liquid on exchanges? Or as soon as it was first distributed by contract?
@prestonjbyrne XRP existed and was transferrable before features like the distributed exchange was completed or the ledger was opened to the public. We're not the ones gaslighting, the ones who have no idea what happened but telling people what happened based on invalid reasoning are.
@prestonjbyrne If you're using a ledger for payments, why should that ledger be controlled by HODLers rather than people making payments? Decentralization and being forced to accept others as stakeholders by the system's design are incompatible. That's why we didn't design XRP Ledger that way.
