This sounds like a typical "Irish" joke, but it's true:
The Irish Government bought a new €53m jet.
And insisted on removing an Israeli-made navigational system.
Now it can't land in the fog 🤣🤣🤣

A BBC interviewer asked a Nobel physicist the simplest question in the world: why do two magnets push each other apart. He refused to answer it. What he did instead is the best seven minutes on thinking ever filmed.
The man is Richard Feynman, at home in 1983, no blackboard, no notes, sitting in an armchair.
He does not dodge because he cannot answer. He dodges because he wants you to see what the question is actually asking. So he takes an ordinary sentence, that a woman slipped on the ice and broke her hip, and starts asking why, and every answer opens another why, until the ground gives way.
Then he turns it around on the interviewer with a question about ice that sounds trivial and is not.
The point he arrives at is the uncomfortable one. Every explanation is only a translation into something you already accept without explanation. Magnets have no such translation. There is nothing more familiar than magnetism to reduce magnetism to, which is why every answer you were given at school was a picture, not a reason.
It matters more now than it did in 1983. Any tool will hand you a fluent answer in a second. Knowing which questions actually have a bottom is the part that is still yours.
One question. Seven minutes. It is in the video.
A psychologist spent 10 years studying 400 people who called themselves lucky or unlucky. Then he handed each one a newspaper and asked them to count the photographs inside.
Unlucky people took about two minutes. Lucky people took seconds.
Page 2 held a half-page ad in giant type reading "Stop counting. There are 43 photographs in this newspaper." A few pages later, another one offered a cash prize to anyone who told the experimenter they'd seen it.
The lucky group spotted both messages. The unlucky group counted straight past them, so locked onto the task that half a page of bold print became invisible. When Richard Wiseman asked afterward if they'd noticed anything unusual, they said no.
His personality data explains why. Unlucky participants scored roughly twice as high on anxiety, and tension narrows attention until the unexpected gets filtered out entirely. Lucky participants also varied their routes to work, talked to more strangers, and broke their routines on purpose, which multiplies how much unexpected material crosses their path to begin with.
Wiseman ran one more test that proves the mechanism. He surveyed 700 lottery players. Self-described lucky people were twice as confident they'd win. Their winnings matched everyone else's exactly. Feeling lucky does nothing in a game of pure chance, because there's nothing to notice.
So he built a "Luck School" that trained unlucky people to behave like lucky ones. Participants reported lasting gains in fortune, confidence, and even health.
The luck was sitting in plain sight on page 2, in type half a page tall. The only variable was who looked up.
FAUCI IN 2021: “When people are vaccinated, they are not going to get infected.”
FAUCI IN 2024: “I got infected about two weeks ago. It was my third Covid-19 infection, and I had been vaccinated and boosted a total of six times.”
How much more evidence do we need to prove that this monster has gaslighted the global population for the last six years and even lied before Congress?
Lock that waste of human skin up already!
😭 Zack Polanski looks like he’s about to start CRYING on Newsnight! 😳
He’d just refused to apologise for sharing the guillotine post. Admitted it was wrong. Admitted it was dangerous. Still wouldn’t say sorry.
Then a senior Reform source gets through to the show and this is read out live while he’s still sitting there:
“It’s truly astonishing and quite frankly sickening that Zack Polanski won’t apologise for inciting murder. He admits it was wrong. He admits it was dangerous. But he still refuses to apologise. Mr Polanski is not fit to lead a national political party.”
Polanski just sits there. You watch his expression shift in real time. He looks like he’s about to start crying as the statement is read out live right in front of him. He realises the damage is landing and the cameras are still rolling.
Amazing 🤣
1/9 — My investigation uncovered that Anthony Fauci kept a diary.
What he wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories.
Today I'm releasing his entries from December 2019 through December 2022. 🧵
❌️ The labour Party have posted this on their TikTok page 🤦🏻♀️
This is not a serious party, I don't feel any comfort knowing these people are in charge
What’s going on here? Human biology stays the same. But in this OECD graph, it’s geography that dictates disability prevalence - and seems to peak where state support is most generous.
It must be something in the water.
John Kennedy: "AOC said categorically that she is not a moron, and she went on to say she hasn't even been to Utah, much less embraced their religion... She's like Kamala Harris, with more bartending experience."
It seems to still not have sunk in that a man who was not even an MP five weeks ago is about to be crowned as Prime Minister, chosen by 0.03% of the public without a leadership contest or a manifesto.
That’s how cooked the UK is right now. We are in banana republic territory.
