$XMR L1 has zero smart contracts and zero native NFT standards. No ERC-721, no ERC-1155. That’s not a missing feature—it’s the entire damn thesis.

1. Fungibility vs. Non-Fungibility

is an oxymoronMonero’s sole purpose is absolute fungibility: every coin is identical, zero transaction history, zero taint, 100% untraceable. NFTs demand the exact opposite: unique metadata, provenance, and flexing ownership history. Shoving unique, identifiable jpegs into a ledger designed for complete anonymity is pure brainrot. Plus, keeping the chain non-Turing complete is how Monero prevents exploit vectors and massive state bloat.

2. Remember "Mordinals"?

Yeah, that was an absolute disasterDegen grifters already tried porting Ordinals to Monero via the tx_extra field. What happened?

Bloated tx_extra outputs got picked as ring signature decoys for normal users.
