GZ could have safely monitored his movements from his vehicle while the police were in route. You don't approach someone at night and not expect them to defend themselves.

@Persway82 The caller initiated racially motivated reporting. All the police did was respond to the call, not profile. Anyone who lives on the east side of Detroit knows that Grosse Pointe has been doing this for decades. The walker was too aggressive with the police.

@thewriterJED @GigglingGanon Yes they did a pretty good job. However, if I were a part of the team, as a mental health professional, I would have asked the parents what he was diagnosed with & to see the meds. That would have given us the best strategies.

@GigglingGanon The officers were good, except the most important thing, which was asking the parents what the medicine was for. That would have been helpful when consulting with the medical team standing by. He appears to have Catatonia, due to the excessive motor activity extreme negativism.
