Nobody disputes that college football is broken, yet everyone now sees Texas Tech as the principal villain in a broken system. Next time ask @Cody64 to explain the gap between those facts in terms that aren’t cartoonishly self serving.
No fan in college sports is quite like Texas Tech's @CodyC64. Outside of Lubbock, he is often accused of trying to have his cake & eat it, too.
I asked him this.
His response as his alma mater navigates a PR war it can't win.

@BJG_CO@OsoMediaGroup Are you open to the possibility that declining the bowl as a 5-7 team with no clear roster future might be more helpful than forcing more practices?
@garyfattersonBU Sidebar, but some commenters here seem unaware US News and World Report (whose rankings have always been dubious) changed their methodology in 2023 in ways that penalized most private schools. Baylor's "drop" in rankings had nothing to do with Livingstone.
@OsoMediaGroup Of course not, and you didn’t answer my question. And, yes, we shouldn’t force ourselves into a position to overpay lesser candidates because our angry fans think we need a new coach as soon as possible.
@ShehanJeyarajah Good for Tech either way, but is the confusion that they're buying *every* recruit or the more common and correct view that they're buying every *elite* recruit? Everyone does, so that's not weird, but I assume staff quotes like this one are easy to misinterpret.
For anyone capable of critical thought, the song Megan demands Baylor's president swoop in and force others to play is by an artist who, as recently as last month, referred to himself as "black Hitler" and blames "Jews" for his losing custody of his kids. Hope this helps!
So the NCAA would not let a baseball player use a Christian song as his walk up song. What makes us even more pathetic is that the supposedly Christian president of Baylor, Linda Livingstone, sits on the NCAA board of governors. Guess she can’t be bothered to go to bat for a fellow believer.
I dunno guys. There was this one time when Trump dropped a tape explaining how he sexually assaults women and he still won that election.
So I think the racist people who support Trump will still support him after he does some more racism.
The CBO study Vance is misrepresenting to "win" the point about immigration leading to higher rents also says a projected surge in immigration will add trillions of dollars to GDP and gov't revenues; an overwhelmingly positive net benefit to the economy.
Here are two more studies to go with it:
"Immigration inflows into a particular Metropolitan statistical area (MSA) is associated with increases in rents and with house prices in that MSA while also seeming to drive up rents and prices in neighboring MSAs."

"The research literature has generally found that increases in immigration raise state and local governments’ spending—particularly on education, health care, and housing—more than their revenues.”
