Bears vs. Panthers Week 1 ‼️
Chicago and Carolina will open the season with a matchup between former #1 overall picks Caleb Williams and Bryce Young, per @Schultz_Report 🔥
My comps for #Bears draft picks:
• Dillon Thieneman: Antoine Bethea
• Logan Jones: Drew Dalman
• Sam Roush: Daniel Bellinger
• Zavion Thomas: D’Wayne Eskridge
• Malik Muhammad: Renardo Green
• Keyshaun Elliott: Tahir Whitehead
• Jordan van den Berg: Early Jay Ratliff
I don’t think Chicago sports has seen a coach like #Bears HC Ben Johnson single handedly change a team over one season like he has. Every player raves about the type of leader and football intelligence he brings.
And people thought he might not be a “leader of men”. 😂
Listen..
Muhammed was a 4th round pick. Taaffe went right after him in the in the 5th round. Such a good story. You've heard a lot of good things about the Bears picks' character.
When #Bears 4th rd pick Malik Muhammed was a freshman at UT, he saw Michael Taaffe's name on 2nd string in the team's depth chart. Taaffe tried to explain why he wasn't a starter and Malik said "I guess you don't want to play in the NFL" in an effort to support/motivate.
This sounds like they had 3 guys with really similar grades still on the board. So they would move back a couple picks and take the one left. No team bit, so they took the guy slightly ahead of the other two. https://t.co/DSfZq8M75Q via @YouTube
Ryan Poles: "This was the most aggressive we were in terms of the guys that we like." If a player wasn't the right scheme fit, didn't fit their character profile, etc. "then you're off the board."
The Bears feel like they're in a position to be "very selective of who we want."
Poles: "Why mess around with those who don't fit what we're trying to do?"
Relatively good take other than Travis Hunter not proving he can be an NFL football player. Not saying he can’t but he’s just as much, if not more, of a projection as any draft.
Dexter Lawrence is better than Pick 10.
Sauce Gardner is better than Pick 16.
Micah Parsons is better than Pick 20.
Travis Hunter is better than Pick 24.
Trent McDuffie is better than Pick 29.
Jaylen Waddle is better than Pick 30.
Stop criticizing NFL teams who go for it.
So let me get this straight: it’s a deep defensive draft… so you trade away a top 10 pick where you could lock up a younger player for up to 5 years…. for an older ( but very good) player…who can walk in 2 years as a free agent?
