@TheCursiveU What’s different about it? They beat two lousy FCS teams, the worst team in FBS, which was a mediocre FCS team just last year, and the worst P4 team in the country. They haven’t beaten a single team that’s beaten an FBS team, and they got blown out by an average MAC team.
@HarryCicma@UMassFootball Nope. They are not going to a bowl. Even if they get to six wins, which I doubt they will. Nobody wants UMass in their bowl. They have a horrible brand and no following.
@UmassReindeer They got the shit kicked out of them because they got manhandled by a physically superior team, on both sides of the ball - not because of “pressure” of being undefeated. I have 2 guarantees for you: Mcguirk won’t be packed next week, and UMass will lose by at least 3 touchdowns.
@YeahImaBoss413 Good for him - but it had nothing to do with complacency. They got their asses handed to them because - once again - they don’t have FBS talent…not even MAC-level FBS talent.
@umassfan20 Eastern Michigan was a game UMass “should win“. They might win one of those others, but I doubt they’ll win two - and certainly not three..
In 2017, UMass beat BYU, and ended up with a 4–8 record. It portended nothing. In 2023, UMass beat Army, and went 3–9 that season. It portended nothing. Beating Rutgers and then 2 FCS teams and 1 that just transitioned to FBS also portends nothing. The problems are systemic.
@blackmask941@FightMA01003 Au contraire. I guess the secret to getting people to become excited about UMass football is to schedule as many FCS opponents as possible, and then hope you can beat a team like Sacramento State. The Rutgers upset is what this is all based on.
