🚨 URGENT: Hawaii’s Massive Gun Ban — We Have ONE Last Chance to Stop It! 🚨

Hawaii’s SB401 — the broadest gun ban in state history — is almost law.
This Wednesday, both the State Senate and House of Representatives will vote.
⚠️ All it takes is ONE chamber voting NO to stop it.
🔴 If SB401 passes, here's what it will do:
BAN ALL semiautomatic rifles with detachable magazines, because almost every modern rifle has a barrel shroud (now counted as an "assault weapon" feature).

BAN ALL semiautomatic shotguns, because the law limits shotguns to five rounds — most semiauto shotguns hold more.

BAN ANY firearm with a magazine capacity over 10 rounds — rifles, pistols, shotguns — ALL affected.

BAN all .50 caliber firearms, even large-caliber hunting rifles.

🔴 Critical Impacts:

Hunting BAN: Modern hunting rifles and shotguns are targeted — Hawaii hunters will lose many of their tools.

Shooting Range BAN: SB401 says you can only use banned guns at "licensed" shooting ranges — but Hawaii licenses NO shooting ranges, meaning you’ll have nowhere to legally shoot them.

Inheritance Restrictions: Heirs must disable, sell, or remove banned firearms unless specific conditions are met.

🔵 Massive Penalties:

Class C Felony (5 years in prison, no probation) for possessing banned firearms.

Felony or misdemeanor for having banned magazines, depending on use.

⚠️ Important:
The language banning these firearms was never given a single hearing in the Senate.
It was added at the last minute by the House — without public testimony or full debate.
This means the public was silenced on one of the biggest gun bans in Hawaii history.
Tell your legislators this rushed, undemocratic process is unacceptable!

🚨 URGENT: Help Stop the Rewrite of SB401 🚨

Hawaiʻi lawmakers are moving forward with SB401 HD1, a drastically expanded gun control bill that no one in the public has had a chance to testify on. This isn’t just about gun policy — it’s about fair process, public trust, and constitutional integrity.

🔍 What’s Going On?
SB401 originally proposed a ban on .50 caliber firearms — a short, clear bill (460 words).

On March 13, the House gutted the original bill and replaced it with language from a totally different bill (HB893), expanding it into a broad assault weapons ban.

The new version is over 2,600 words long and includes:

A ban on all semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines

New definitions like “assault rifle” and “fixed magazine”

Magazine capacity limits, transportation restrictions, new penalties

The committee report still falsely says it’s just about ".50 cal" firearms.

And worst of all? The public has never been allowed to testify on the new version.

⚖️ Why This Matters
This kind of "gut and replace" tactic was ruled unconstitutional by the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court in 2021 (League of Women Voters v. State).

“A bill’s content must be substantially the same throughout the legislative process in order to comply with Article III, Section 15 of the Hawai‘i Constitution.”

“The Legislature must provide fair notice and opportunity to be heard. When it substitutes a bill’s contents with new subject matter, the process restarts. The constitutional guarantee of three readings applies to the bill in its final form.”

— League of Women Voters of Honolulu, et al. v. State of Hawaiʻi (2021)

SB401 HD1 violates that rule — and sets a dangerous precedent if allowed to pass.

Hawaii lawmakers are pushing H.B. 392 & H.B. 125, two unconstitutional gun control bills that threaten your Second Amendment rights. These bills turn all firearms into “ghost guns,” criminalize personal firearm manufacturing, and impose extreme storage restrictions that could leave you defenseless.

WHAT THESE BILLS DO:
H.B. 392:
Falsely classifies all firearms as "ghost guns" – If passed this law makes EVERY GUN a ghost gun.
Bans personal firearm manufacturing.
Creates severe penalties that could turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals overnight.

H.B. 125:
Ignores the Supreme Court ruling in D.C. v. Heller (2008), which ruled that:
"the requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock is unconstitutional because it makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense."
Declares your home is NOT secure and a locked door is still a public space– an outright attack on your right to defend yourself and your family.
Unfairly punishes gun owners for theft or misuse of their firearms by criminals.

The governor signed HB 2342 into law. This makes the carrying of all deadly and dangerous weapons perfectly legal. The law makes it so that as long as a person is openly carrying any type of weapon, including switchblades or butterfly knives, they can do so.

If you see somebody walking down the street and they are openly carrying any kind of weapon that’s not a firearm. They are not breaking the law.

You should call the police unless they are acting in an erratic manner posing a danger to themselves of our property. The mear possession of arms is not a crime.
