The illegal alien truck driver from India who Biden released into our country who then kiIIed three people in California, was sentenced to under five years in prison
What a joke
What a slap in the face to the families of the victims
- First comedy and satire was targeted. The elements that keep a society largely in check.
- Next was masculinity. Men were shamed as “toxic” for being manly.
- Then it was women who complain, and they were labeled “Karens.”
So if appropriate mockery is out, the most ridiculous concepts actually see the light of day.
If men aren’t permitted to defend what they know they should, the most harmful and dangerous concepts see the light of day.
And when older women are shamed for speak against what they see as wrong, the most outrageous behavior sees the light of day.
Comedy, satire, mockery, masculinity, and female wisdom. Restore it all now.
I found this bit today between @RealMattFradd and Peter Kreeft profoundly moving (Kreeft’s wife of 60+ years recently died).
It’s no wonder marriage is a type of Christ and His Church. If we love His Catholic Church only if Her body is beautiful, we are not truly loving Her.
Reminder that leftists murdered 55,000 priests and nuns in cold blood in Spain from 1936-1939 during the communist Red Terror.
To compare, the Spanish Inquisition killed 3,000 people over 374 years.
Francisco Franco is a hero and saved Spain from the same fate that Eastern Europe endured under communist tyranny.
Remember, all Muslim countries in the Middle East were once Christian.
When the Muslim invaders came, they killed the men, raped the women, enslaved the children.
That’s how those countries became Islamic. And that’s exactly what they’re trying to do in Europe and America now.
Like many others, I have been alarmed by the success of certain politicians in our country who identify as extreme socialists or communists.
This is not a matter of classical liberals triumphing over standard-issue conservatives; this is the victory of people who stand athwart the fundamental principles that undergird our country.
There are many reasons why I detest Communism, but I want to draw attention to just one issue of supreme importance.
Karl Marx said that the first critique is the critique of religion. He meant that, before a complete re-working of the politics and economics of a society can take place, religion has to be taken down.
This is because religion, as he saw it, is the “opium of the masses,” a drug taken to dull our sensitivity to the suffering caused by economic exploitation. As long as the suffering populace is lured into complacency by fantasies about God's providence and the promise of eternal life, they will never rise up and throw off their chains.
But there is a second reason why the elimination of religion is of paramount significance for Marx.
Communism aspires to be a totalizing system, involving the government's control over education, entertainment, communication, politics, and especially economics.
What stands resolutely athwart this ambition is religion, which declares that all of these societal expressions are finally under the judgment of God. So, if you want Communism to succeed, religion has to be stamped out.
If you doubt me on any of this, I would encourage you to read the recent histories of China, Russia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Venezuela. Revisit those histories and tell me I'm wrong about the attack on religion.
Might I encourage my fellow believers in God not to be complacent in the face of this very troubling development in the American body politic?
We save America by having the political will to do what it takes to fix the damage caused by third-world mass migration. More deportations, more denaturalizations, more remigration, no birthright citizenship for illegals, and no amnesty.
Men will not be able to exercise their God-ordained role in society unless male-only spaces are cultivated and defended.
The lack of them—i.e. the lack of fraternity—makes it far easier for men to slide into cowardice and weakness, which directly enables feminism.
In other words, alcohol can facilitate social relations and sometimes even the use of reason, thus helping to perfect us as rational social animals. Can it be abused? Sure, anything can be -- such as medical expertise, behind which hide the twits scolding us lately about alcohol.
If you are one of the “I didn’t leave the left, the left, left me” types…what you’re admitting is that you never figured out the logical next step of the worldview you helped perpetuate.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad you caught on, but you need to recognize you were duped.
Important points from @michaeljknowles In addition, those flinging the absurd accusation of “communism” at @Pontifex ignore statements in Magnifica Humanitas such as the following:
“The Social Doctrine of the Church refers to subsidiarity as the principle according to which the role of individuals, families, local communities and intermediary organizations should not be supplanted by higher-level authorities. Moreover, higher-level institutions must recognize, protect and promote the freedom and creativity of lower-level entities, coordinating their contributions so that they can cooperate effectively for the common good. Starting with Leo XIII and the beginnings of modern social teaching, the Church has insisted that neither the individual nor the family should be subsumed by the State, but should be allowed to act freely, as far as possible, without harming the common good... This principle encourages us to move beyond any form of paternalistic or welfare-based management of societal life” (68-70)
“When subsidiarity is not linked to solidarity, it ends up becoming merely the protection of particular interests; when solidarity is not supported by subsidiarity, it degenerates into a form of welfare that does not foster responsibility” (73)
“Financial assistance to the poor may at times be necessary in emergencies, but it cannot become the sole response, since the goal is to enable each person to live with dignity through his or her own work” (149)
