We headed back to the farm for our final session of Beaudesert Eco Arts Trail. We finished off painting our tiles we made in the first session, made some willow dream catchers, visited the goats on a walk, enjoyed homemade soup and baking and evaluated our programme.
I was overwhelmed by the effort our team spent on making my last day special as I step down from the board of directors & MH project manager. I will treasure my plaque forever, along with my memories of my farm family. I'm humbled that you see these qualities in me. - Lorraine
Our B.E.A.T team headed over to Birches Valley to build dens and left a temporary mark on the landscape. Nurturing through Nature and treading lightly on the planet.
Lovely day out at Marquis Drive today we started off with a walk to find plants with interesting shapes.
We used our leaves to make some cyanotypes. We also popped into the World War I hut for a look round & one of the volunteers kindly explained the history of the area to us.
Last week, our B.E.A.T team visited the German Cemetery on Cannock Chase. The theme was photography and the team found the location to be tranquil and were very interested in the history surrounding the soldiers who are buried there.
Friday, we managed to dodge the rain and enjoyed the glorious sunshine whilst visiting The Wolseley Centre at The Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. Our B.E.A.T team particularly enjoyed engaging with the nature around us and the ducks and geese were thankful too!
We used Oak Gall ink (made last year from oak galls from the Chatsworth Estate) to make marks, write words and generally reflect on the past couple of weeks.
Our first day of Beaudesert Eco Arts Trail was spent at the farm. We explored the grounds and woodland around us and collected different textures from nature to imprint onto clay.
Some recent activities at our Seasons of Hope sessions for people living with dementia and their loved ones. We have a few late cancellation places for our free Spring sessions. Telephone 07724591568 or email [email protected]#ecotherapy#carefarming#Staffordshire
A big thank you to @beaudesertcare staff and service users for such a warm welcome yesterday during our undergrad field trip. More funding is needed for these projects that change lives #carefarms#greencareworks
We had the pleasure of a visit from @staffscounpsych today. We all enjoyed sharing our farm and eco-therapy principles with the students. Thank you to everyone who participated.
