There’s obviously better venues in North America for a World Cup Final. With the New York skyline nearby, (but more importantly) the kickoff time globally for the big markets, it makes the most sense.

Kickoff at 3pm ET means 9pm in Spain and France

As the World Cup knockout round begins, count me among those wondering about the decision to hold the final July 19 at MetLife. I know it’s New York, but it’s also open air. Could be 98 and humid, could rain cats and dogs. SoFi in LA would have made more sense, or Jerry World.
