@bioML3@PinkNews I don't think the drag queens are unsafe around kids. I just don't think small children need to be exposed to sexualised behaviour (which is what drag queens are acting out).
As a woman in Iran:
I don’t have the right to choose how to dress.
I don’t have the right to go to stadium.
I don’t have the right to ride a bicycle.
I don’t have the right to sing.
But I’ve been given the right to vote in elections.
Does this sound like a real election to you?
Bahaha 'kink' is centred on female liberation. Women being tied up, beaten, burned, strangled, and god knows what else is all to liberate them. Right. Ok.
@jane_mclenachan@BlackIslePMD Why do we let men be in charge of anything if they are always distracted by their penises? How did society decide women were the irrational ones?
The message of this ‘This Girl Can’ poster seems to be ‘you can box and work out as long as you’re performing femininity at the same time’. This puts even more unreasonable pressure on young women. Not helpful TBH
@Finn_Mackay Trans women are by definition biologically male. Males commit sexual and violent offences at much much higher rates than females. Theres no evidence identifying as a woman reduces the propensity of violence. That’s what we are saying, not that tw are more prone than other males.
@TERF_Central Whatever they want to do. But I will point out that actual women of the ages/body types in the picture wouldn't make it even close to qualifying for something like this.
@KjoDevilHunterS @LailaMickelwait Reminder that there is *nothing in ANY criminal legal definition of 'assault' 'grievous harm' or 'torture' that is DEPENDENT on whether the person being harmed 'consents'. Consent is IRRELEVANT for torture/assault harm-determined by damage to human body. Also #KinkShaming is okay
@Fastlane_S_86 @edoconn2@realjuliasong@LailaMickelwait In both cases there is an option to do x or not to do x. In both cases not doing x carries a cost. If the mere existence of the option not to do x, despite those costs, means doing x is not forced, then you have a very strange definition of “force”.
@edoconn2@realjuliasong@LailaMickelwait I guess if someone ever says to you “kill this person or else I’ll kill your kids” and you do it, you weren’t forced right?
@SelinaPreston@SpeakUpAtWork@tibby17 Jury clearly didn’t believe men would pretend to be asleep because that’s crazy. But a 18 year old girl wanting sex with 12 men at once? Totally plausible fetish.
I got to meet Rebecca Solnit yesterday, and we had a fascinating discussion about feminism. I told her at length about the concept of "mansplaining", an idea which she seemed to find revelatory - she kept saying "oh my God" and "this is unbelievable".
@marstrina His defence of “it was their fetish to pretend to be asleep during sex” was immediately disbelieved bc no one could believe men would do that. Unlike women who apparently love being beaten and choked until they die.
Trans activists pretend sex is socially constructed but they know what sex people are because they use “cis”. Everyone knows they mean “woman who is female” as opposed to “woman who is male”.
