What a morning already.

While attending @CanSG_org , I was confronted by a counter-protester who attempted to stop me from peacefully walking and recording. They struck me with a drum and repeatedly hit my arm and body with their drumsticks.

I reported the incident to the police and requested that charges be considered.

No one should face violence for peacefully exercising their rights.

Political violence has no place in a democratic society.

Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions.

While peacefully recording a protest, I was verbally abused, spat at, pushed, struck with a drum, and hit with drumsticks. I was also called every insult imaginable.

No one should be subjected to violence or intimidation for peacefully exercising their rights.

A police report has been made and charges have been filed. I hope @metpoliceuk treat this incident with the seriousness it deserves.

What happened today will not silence me. If anything, it has strengthened my resolve to keep speaking out.
