THE AI BOOM IS THREE COMPANIES PASSING THE SAME DOLLAR BACK AND FORTH

OpenAI just printed an $852 billion valuation off just a $122 billion raise, and most of that raise isn't even cash, it's compute credits.

Nvidia "invests" up to $100 billion into OpenAI, OpenAI immediately spends it on Nvidia chips, Nvidia books the revenue, the stock rips on the print, and OpenAI's next funding round prices itself off Nvidia's freshly inflated market cap. The same dollars going around in a circle, each lap making the bubble bigger than the last.

Meanwhile the actual business is SPENDING $8.5 BILLION A YEAR on $5 billion of revenue. The flywheel doesn't even need profits. If this isn't a sign of a bubble to you, then I don't know what to tell you.

This is what's known as vendor financing, the exact accounting trick that turned Cisco, Lucent, and Worldcom into giants in 2000.
