Deaths of thousands of Hindus by hands of Sikh terrorists can't be washed out by saying that both communities suffered. Hindus had no part to play in the violence.
Sikhs started it, killed thousands of Sikhs and Hindus in the process. "Both suffered" only because of Sikh religious and regional supremacist ideology which is still as toxic as ever. It is like saying both Nazis and European minorities suffered due to war started by Nazis.
Everyone who tries to justify kahlistanis, bhindiwala and sympathisers, whether it be in gobarment, forces, friend & family circles is a terrorist himself and should be treated as such.

The makers of Satluj cannot hide behind the excuse of “creative freedom” while presenting disputed claims as established history. Punjab’s painful past is not a script to be selectively edited to suit a narrative. In a media statement issued today S. Ravneet Singh Bittu Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries said that I challenge the producer and director of Satluj movie to place before the people of Punjab the complete documentary evidence, official records, judicial findings and authenticated data that conclusively establish the figure of 25,000 missing or illegally cremated bodies portrayed in the film. If this figure is based merely on an estimate or allegation, why has it been projected as an established historical fact? Why were viewers not informed that this number has not been conclusively established by any final judicial determination?

Further bittu said that The people of Punjab deserve answers for Equally disturbing omissions and selective portrayal of Punjab’s darkest chapter. Why are the massacres of innocent Hindus, bus passengers, shopkeepers, government employees, labourers and ordinary citizens brutally killed by terrorists not depicted with the same intensity? Why has the immense sacrifice of Punjab Police personnel, security forces and countless brave citizens who fought terrorism been underplayed? Why are the thousands of families devastated by terrorist violence virtually absent from the narrative?
Why has one side of history been amplified while the suffering of thousands of other victims has been marginalised? Why were controversial claims presented without clearly distinguishing between allegations, estimates and officially established facts?

Bittu said that No responsible filmmaker has the right to distort history by presenting contested figures as unquestionable truth. Punjab paid a terrible price during the years of terrorism. Every innocent victim deserves justice and remembrance—irrespective of religion, community or ideology.

I call upon the makers of Satluj to publicly release the documentary basis for the figure of 25,000 within a reasonable time. If they fail to substantiate this claim with credible and verifiable evidence, they owe the people of Punjab a clear public clarification that the figure is not an officially verified count. We will examine all appropriate legal and constitutional remedies available to ensure that historical facts are not misrepresented before the nation.

Punjab’s history cannot be rewritten through selective storytelling. Truth must prevail over propaganda, facts over fiction, and evidence over emotion.

Hardeep Puri ji told me that his family has cherished and preserved the 'Jode Sahib' of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji for 300 years. During the Partition, Puri Sahib's family, his ancestors, brought them safely to Delhi. His family wanted to hand over these sacred 'Jode Sahib' to the Sikh 'Sangat' so that as many people as possible could pay their respects and view them. We formed a committee comprising those well-versed in Sikh traditions. We sought the advice of experts and decided to take these sacred 'Jode Sahib' to the place where Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji first set foot on this hallowed land, the place of his birth, our Sri Patna Sahib. I am delighted that these sacred 'Jode Sahib' are now on the holy soil of Patna Sahib, and it was my privilege to witness that sacred occasion and be present there. Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh says it would have been an honour to serve under an officer like KPS Gill.

He recalls how, during the 1962 Indo-China War, when panic had gripped Tezpur, Assam, and much of the administration had withdrawn, a young police officer, KPS Gill, chose to stay at his post instead of fleeing.

According to Captain Amarinder Singh, K.P.S. Gill saved Punjab by transforming the Punjab Police into an effective counter-insurgency force, restoring public confidence, strengthening intelligence, and relentlessly taking on Khalistani terrorists until militancy was defeated.

Captain Amarinder recalls how dire the situation in Punjab had become during the peak of militancy. Shops and businesses would shut at sunset, people avoided stepping out after evening, police officers themselves feared meeting the public after dark, and large parts of normal life had come to a standstill.

Whatever one's political views, K.P.S. Gill remains one of the most consequential and controversial figures in India's fight against terrorism. His legacy continues to evoke strong opinions, but his role in Punjab's history cannot be ignored.

Nida Khan who wanted to convert Hindu girls to Islam was granted bail citing Krishna's birth.. Indian Judiciary

A special court in Nashik granted bail to TCS employee Nida Khan, an accused in an alleged religious conversion case, citing her five-month pregnancy and the need to avoid childbirth in prison. The court referred to the birth of Lord Krishna while exercising judicial discretion. It also noted that the investigation had been completed and a charge sheet filed. Nida Khan is accused of pressuring a colleague to convert to Islam and allegedly insulting Hindu deities

On collateral harm: Loss of innocent lives during the Khalistani movement was regrettable & said he felt sorry if anyone had to leave Punjab simply for not being Sikh.

Regret for not being given an opportunity to stabilise Kashmir.
