@TeachButler some of mine have been learning using an online ide and following YouTube tutorials. Cannot recommend this site enough for gcse and kS3 if interested: https://t.co/7D8FzIEJLs - hopefully that links you to the python book
@MrLauLearning @Ms_P_2019 @duraceldave @r1chwilliams Yay, I remember this part of the spec was more detailed than the OCR GCSE. Rootkit, zombies etc. an interesting unit to teach!
@AskMissMay Yes I see that we had rules, had to get a class average of 75% for it to be on next lesson, had to get x y and z done to play, I’d let the individuals who met the success criteria play but others not. Peer pressure helped but my class were competitive!
Our new newsletter is here! Some key notices: Bebras is running for the next couple of weeks - good luck to all those entering!; The big book of computing content is here: https://t.co/6HOFa99uN1 ! And collins has provided FREE flashcards, perhaps useful for Nov mocks.. 😊
@MsArthurCompSci @MrSteRobinson@HelloWorld_Edu@tough_miss For modifying I’d initially focus on the operators, it tends to be used in the exams and students aren’t as quick to pick up on it. It’s also a very good opportunity to teach or recall maintainable code theory and/ or trace tables if they’re year 11.
