Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do?
Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games?
https://t.co/Nb8rOAGO4T is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you.
Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.
Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
My entire life is powered by a desire to go swimming in nice water. I only work to go swimming. The winter is hard for me because I lose sight of what is most important when I am far away from going swimming
Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war. Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace.
I am focused on making sure that every New Yorker is safe. I have been in contact with our Police Commissioner and emergency management officials. We are taking proactive steps, including increasing coordination across agencies and enhancing patrols of sensitive locations out of an abundance of caution.
Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.
so happy for my papasito benito but i really need well-intentioned liberals to understand that his story is not about immigration and the american dream. it’s about success DESPITE american colonization. it’s about making it big, and still being able to call puerto rico home.
The attack on @IlhanMN last night was disgusting and I am relieved that she is okay. Time and again, she has stood up to ugly racism & intimidation and none of it will ever stop her from fighting for MN.
Every person in the US over the age of 18 needs to call their senators today. And keep calling every single day. 2 phone calls, 10 minutes of your time.
Here is the link to find your senators and their contact information: https://t.co/jj8NYCagkB

it honestly doesn’t matter that he was a nurse or anything to describe him as the good person he clearly was. ICE should not be killing people in the street.
The Trump-Vance administration just used your taxes to pay for ICE agents to kill a 37-year-old nurse, who was only there because another ICE agent killed a 37-year-old mother of three, who was only there because ICE agents are kidnapping your neighbors
I really hope the person in the pink coat is safe. Their cellphone footage seems to be the clearest explanation of what just happened. Wherever they are I hope they save the footage in multiple places cuz we should all understand how easy it is for things/ppl to get disappeared.
You can’t detain a 5 year old child.
If a masked man grabs a kid off the street and puts him in an unmarked car… that’s kidnapping.
If that child is then sent to another state? That’s trafficking.
Language matters here.
What happened to Liam Ramos should outrage us all.
