I've always been fascinated by the tricky Welsh word for a pharmacy (Fferyllfa).
I knew that -fa ending meant 'place of'
But what did 'Fferyll' mean?
Turns out it's a loanword of the Latin poet Virgil, whose works were said to have 'magical properties'.
I bloody love Welsh!
