Day 1: Holes by Louis Sachar
'What are we supposed to be looking for?' Stanley asked him.
'You're not looking for anything, you're digging to build character.'
Hoping for tips for remote teaching via zoom. Self isolating so missing the training in school and I feel as though the lessons I've tried to do from home didn't work ever so well as the kids couldn't turn on video or sound at their end .. Got my visualiser so I can annotate
@eerie_wanda Hi, my daughter is a huge fan of your music. She has severe anxiety and your songs help her find peace. It is her 14th birthday at the end of the month. Would it be possible to get a signed picture or card to give her as a gift? It would make her year!!
Comedy gold in KS3 Drama lesson today: "We're starting our new unit on Shakespeare." One lad starts dancing whilst singing 'Oh yeah, just shakin' my spear'. The moment when realisation hit - priceless 😳😱😂🤣 #drama#edutwitter#Shakespeare#ruiningshakespeareforeveryone
In development, I’ve turned this into a self assessment sheet. Done it with a few students today and it’s been quite revealing watching them realise what it is they *don’t* know... if you’d like to use it, let me know?
@ruthlily It is lonely, please don't be afraid to reach out. I know how difficult it is, sometimes it's hard to see how anyone can possibly understand, or how to get through today, then tomorrow, then another day. . Madam is having good and bad days, both trying very hard to be positive
Am going to see how reminding students, in every class, at the start of every lesson about active listening, as I feel that it could be key to success for some students: (image from: https://t.co/KshAHX9POU)
@ruthlily It was good, mostly just helpful from the point of view of realising that it affects so many more people than thought. Though it can feel like it, we are definitely not alone x
A day learning about #pda#pathologicaldemandavoidance doubly frustrating as a parent and teacher to see how many young people and families are being let down by an education system that is entirely at odds with the PDA brain #SENPARENTING#Autism
