@nopal_azul@DoubleA_2208 Personally I do still hold a "peace on both sides" stance but with a big caveat - peace cannot possibly exist until "Israel" acknowledges it's illegal occupation, withdraws and it's government is made to pay for countless war crimes. It all starts with them.
It’s easy to judge, to lay blame, to take a side. It’s a lot harder to listen, to pay attention, to empathize and see things from all sides. Because they aren’t really “sides” not really. Just a lot of people in pain and a cycle of violence with no end in sight.
I’ve been quiet the past few days. I don’t know that I can actually add anything to the discourse. I know more about the conflict, I think, than the average American, which honestly makes me even more hesitant to say anything. I’ve been to Israel three times
Nothing is solved at gunpoint. Nothing is solved by more tanks, more guns, more rockets.
My feed this week is full of people in pain on all sides. As an American, it’s easy to feel like it’s far away and disconnected from real life.
@joshgondelman As someone who flies standby a lot (mom is retired airline employee) if you don’t show up for your flight they don’t just leave the seat open- there is a good chance that it will go to someone on standby. So what I’m saying is that it doesn’t matter if you cancel or not.
@Writer_DG I think I read the first one when I was still in high school. My mom gave it to me, I’m sure. I’m pretty sure it didn’t cause me any permanent damage 😂
@elisabethepps I don’t have a real count, but I’ve probably seen the Flobots play at least 30 times. But many of those were in small dive venues a long time ago before they were big cause I’ve known most of them since high school 🤷♀️
