This year I'm running Cardiff Half to raise money for the renovation of @SwanseabayNHS "Clos Cwtch", 5 houses that provide a home away from home for families with babies in the NICU β₯οΈ
Grateful for anything you can spare or a share β₯οΈ

@ChloeMilton8 Agree with the experience you talk about in your article.
When I was a medical student I was told off for how awkwardly I cut sutures when I tried to do it with my right because I couldn't get the scissors to work with my left.
Such bad hand cramp trying to use the clamps!
@ChloeMilton8 So interested to read this! As a leftie and a doctor I'm so curious, because I make so many subtle adjustments in my day/exams etc that I don't realise because of my left handedness!
@zoyysauce - Development is a station you could easily get full marks in, but it feels quite false station. Make sure those milestones are just there in your head so you know them
- Make sure you have fun planned around the exam. Eg. Mine was in London so made a trip of it, dinner & show!
@Dr_DeanS I really love that people are coming for you and saying "ah but what about x situation that sounds reasonable to give antipyretics, you're wrong" when you've literally said "if a child is comfortable or not distressed I would hold off"
Full agreement with you :)
@DrSeanMon @DrEmilyBotcher @ajpigott_anna@heretolearnkids Our deanery have said you have to also request to fasttrack. Which you can only do once; so its not like I imagined it might be where the ARCP panel look at you and then say "ah this trainee has done everything let's have a discussion with them as to if they'd like to progress"
@DrSeanMon @DrEmilyBotcher @ajpigott_anna@heretolearnkids My rant might have contributed.
I started training at 80%, got my competencies done (& now all my exams) still have to do my FTE time before moving to tier 2, unless I show that I am "exceptional"
So currently 3rd year training, don't become ST4 until June 25 π
@dr_emmacoombe In theory... being 80% I'm still told I have to meet my FTE, even though I got all my core competencies. π€·ββοΈ
Seems more complicated than the college presents it.
@DrEmilyBotcher @lauraamkelly We did for the last 6 months! Sadly I have now moved hospitals π₯²π₯² but I did get a couple of glorious shifts with Laura as my reg β₯οΈ
@EileenC_Foster I don't know of any going but when i was an F3 I did a clinical fellow job in Heartlands NICU and there's always locums going in BCH.
Often the jobs don't come out until a bit later so defo worth emailing around
@DrKidneyAsh Nice work! Will defo be paying this until they write it off (if that still happens)
6 years of doctoring, it continues to get higher not lower as the payments don't cover the interest π« π«
+Β£66,000 of debt I pretend does not exist
Absolutely amazing you've cleared!
Spent my day phoning families to nominate their children for @Dreamflight and then spent my bonus leap year cold water dip fundraising for this fabulous charity at the gorgeous Ty Sawna and my heart is so very full β₯οΈif anyone is able to donate, you really could change a life π
