If we’re truly “pro-life”, we understand that it applies from the womb to the schools to the streets to the prisons to the nursing home. When God created humanity in His image, He didn’t discriminate and He didn’t give it an expiration date.
It can't be that he is indifferent or detached from our condition. God takes our misery and suffering so seriously that he was willing to take it on himself. (2/2)
If we ask the question ‘Why does God allow evil and suffering to continue?’ And we look at the cross of Jesus, we still don’t know what the answer is...However, we now know what the answer isn’t. It can’t be that he doesn’t love us. (1/2)
The notion of a selectively “pro-life” position that advocates for the unborn but not for the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable (or vice versa) falls short of being pro life. All God’s image bearers are entitled to advocacy, protection, and care.
I hope you desire a real faith just like you’d desire a real diamond. Fake diamonds look real outside but are empty on the inside. The same goes for fake faith. Without a relationship with Jesus, it means nothing. Don’t settle for conterfeit love when you can have the real thing.
We cannot allow the way we think to form our view of the Bible. We have to allow the Bible to transform the way we think.
So many people walk away from God when they realize he doesn’t within their logic.
We have to let God speak for himself for things to make sense.
Christians are at their best when they are telling the world about Jesus—his grace, kindness, and beauty—while also showing the world who he is by the kinds of people we are becoming. The content of our beliefs is important. Equally important is the way that we express them.
