🚨 I'm still shocked that this isn't getting enough attention!?! 🚨
WATCH and listen to Rev. Robert Schenck tell how Evangelicals all over the country met with @GOP@HouseGOP@SenateGOP members to plot with the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade.
Student debt cancellation is a racial justice issue — Black and brown people are disproportionately harmed by the student debt crisis.
Inaction is not an option.
To Ralph Norman, the Congressman of the great state of South Carolina,
You say it is “obnoxious” for taxpayers to be responsible for the loans of others.
Well sir, we did a little digging and it turns out you had $306,520 in PPP loans forgiven.
Every penny of that was money that came from taxpayers and it wasn’t paid back.
Here’s the big question: why is it ok for YOU, but not
students trying to make their lives better?
I think we know the reason.
First, it’s because you represent the same SELFISH thinking of your entire party: “It’s good for me but not for thee.”
And lastly, it’s because you’re an asshole.
The Supreme Court's recent rulings were sadly predictable for anyone who understands the hard-right agenda. Their goal has always been to install Justices whose job is to turn back the clock on our freedoms, on decades of constitutional decisions, and on our continuing struggle to “form a more perfect union” that includes all of us.
Let's vote out their political enablers and rein in the dark, subversive money that supports them in their quest to reverse a century of progress.
Affirmative Action asks schools to consider race as A factor in student admissions, so Black student population at elite institutions must be AMAZING!
Well...
Harvard 6.6%
Yale 6.5%
Brown 7.0%
Princeton 4.7%
Columbia 5.1%
Cornell 5.0%
I can see why folks want to get rid of it.
In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court just paved the way for businesses to discriminate against the LGBTQIA+ community.
We cannot sit idly by and watch as this court erodes civil rights.
It’s time to expand the Supreme Court.
So, let me get this straight: yesterday the Supreme Court ruled colleges CAN’T discriminate on the basis of race but today they ruled that a web designer CAN discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community? Sorry, but this Court is so freaking messed up.
Both worked hard amid struggle and roadblocks to get where they are today. A similar place, yet completely different world views.
Justice Clarence Thomas benefited from affirmative action and today sits on the highest court in the land for life but is working to close doors on African Americans, other POC and marginalized communities, at every turn.
Ketanji Brown Jackson also sits on the same court & has become the voice for the people Thomas is stomping on.
THANK YOU, KBJ #AJustice4All
Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our efforts.
