@BKRBusinessMin GDP has shrinked. The deficit has increased massively (despite all of the noise made by DOGE.) Admin violates Supreme Court ruling; sends a father to a torture prison in Al Salvador. Our allies hate us.
@Ken67547214@romanhelmetguy Making money and inventing things are both pretty reasonable goals. It's generally good for a society to have an incentive system that aligns both of those pursuits
@ai_for_success I think I'd go Google, then Nvidia, then OpenAI, then Anthropic, then Grok, then DeepSeek. Perplexity shouldn't even be in the same tier-list -- they're more like Cursor by being a great product but are not aiming to do anything foundational.
@a_musingcat Imo: Gemini is an upgraded Claude 3.7 Sonnet (for Cursor), new 4o is now a better Sonnet 3.5 (new), DeepSeek is now a better o1, Grok is now a better Perplexity, and Claude 3.7 is a better GPT 4.5. Unsure how 4.1 fits in
@lifetimization If you have the chance to read some of Daniel Kahneman's work, their research found that IQ and resistance to falling into cognitive errors in decision making are only loosely correlated.
@lifetimization A stupid action: an action without a justifiable cause or informed reasoning — or more so, an action based on misinformed and faulty reasoning — which is detrimental to reaching desirable outcomes from the standpoint of the subject
@lifetimization It's a stronger correlate to stupidity than lack of intelligence, but doesn't map on 100%. If you have wisdom, you're unlikely to be very stupid. But you could also lack wisdom while not being stupid
