We have been studying the Iditarod the past two weeks. The last Musher to cross the finish line receives “The Red Lantern Award” for perseverance and finishing. These students have been working hard in class and having grit when times are tough. @RidgewoodES
Students learned how to track their Musher using https://t.co/W6zsOvtT4P. Mrs. Kibler also came in and taught them how to use the Ozobots, which we will use to learn more about the Iditarod trail. @RidgewoodES@KatieKibler1
Students picked their Mushers from a boot as we started our Iditarod Unit. The Mushers for the Iditarod picked from a boot to determine the order that they will start. @RidgewoodES
We read about scientists William Beebe and John James Audubon who were naturalists and like to observe their environment. Students then went outside to observe and take notes about their surroundings. @RidgewoodES
The smiles and cheers we got throughout the Welcome Back Parade got us all even MORE excited to start the year!! Thanks to all of those that were outside, ready to cheer us on, even if some of us got lost (Looking at you Mrs.Kibler) 🤣
