Turns out it's customer service day on @TPExpressTrains and we got a free coffee ☕ I asked Audrey, Customer Host, how we could celebrate her and she said a tweet would do. So here's to Audrey (cc: @TPExpressTrains) 🎊🎉🎈🚄 ☕🥳

Surely this isn't a surprise? This is why the design language - how infrastructure instinctively reads to a driver or other user - of streets is so key. Details matter!

Here's Great Western Road, Glasgow, when it was closed earlier today for line painting. Usually choked with vehicles. You can hear conversations and birds, see the full beauty of the buildings...
Feels so key to use these moments to give folk a glimpse of what could be.
@colki1983 @Glasgow_LS Tricky, but important to push for nonetheless I think :) Closing roads entirely to vehicles is perhaps rarely necessary but over-dominance can be tackled iteratively by restricting access to those that need it. Needs a bit of inspiration and vision though.
@colki1983 @Glasgow_LS Indeed, I agree. Public transport often woeful in terms of accessibility and urgently needs fixed as part of the bigger solution. This would require running at a loss to start with (whilst people learned to trust in public transport again) and that's tricky.
@LRichieScott These are really important Qs to be asking and it feels to me that we all need to work together to answer them because it's complex. And I completely agree, public transport can be woefully poor and needs improved in many cases to make it more fair.
@LRichieScott Yes. Which is why you'll note that I've specifically referred to the "over-domination" of private vehicles, rather than suggesting removing them entirely. Of course access is still required for folk that need it. Good, accessible public transport is another factor within that.
