Hi @NadineDorries yesterday the shows below were closed due to Covid outbreaks. You tweeted about a hedgehog sanctuary and Strictly. Looking forward to your comments today & offer of support. Because.. it’s your job.
Meet Razwan, nurse from Romania, @Sofiia.abdelani, doctor from Ukraine, Pablo ITU consultant from Spain. They help care for 14 patients on Covid ITU @NHSBartsHealth @RoyalLondonHosp today. All bar one unvaccinated, the other had received only one dose. We wish…
@irresponsabelle This is amazing because I’m watching it now and was watching her thinking I want to see you on here! Who do I call to make that happen? I have no sway over this at all, you should know that before answering.
@druss999 I think one of the reasons covid would be mandatory over flu is because of the high transmissibility of covid compared to flu. And back when the debate about mandate started there were over 100k who had refused the vaccine, so that number has come down already 🤷🏻♀️
@druss999@GBNEWS It offers you a higher level of protection against it than not having it, same as the flu jab, and obviously the higher the protection the higher chance of you not getting it and passing it on. I don’t actually know the TB efficacy, or any of the others I have to have tbh!
@druss999 Increase your nursing numbers. There are more people who will leave due to retirement or because covid has destroyed them than are refusing the vaccine.
@druss999@GBNEWS That up. But I imagine there are some who would rather leave than have it. To be totally honest Liam, it’s been on its knees for years and somehow they continue to tread water. Those who leave will be replaced with newly qualified nurses, so you’ll just replenish rather than…
@druss999@GBNEWS Ah damaging to the health sector. To be honest with you, I would be surprised to see every person who is refusing (not unable) to have the vaccine leave the NHS. It’s a secure job with a good pension. I’m not sure every person who is refusing it feels strongly enough to give…
@druss999@GBNEWS So the flu jab hasn’t been mandatory before. I don’t know if they plan to make it mandatory from now on. The immunisations make it less likely you contract the disease so therefore less likely to pass it on. Let me go back and read your other q…
@druss999@GBNEWS They are 2 way - to protect us and to protect our patients. We had an outbreak of TB in Bristol about 20 years ago and many staff were exposed to it. Had they not been vaccinated they probably would have caught it.
@druss999@GBNEWS I already have a list of vaccinations I have to have in order to work as a registered nurse. When I’m offered a job it’s pending references and proof of immunisations.
