Another busy day at the U.S. Capitol. GMA’s President @JulieB_Tifton mayor of @CityofTifton , and CEO and Executive Director @LHanson_GMA met with Congressman Austin Scott , GA-08, Vice Chair of House Committee on Ag to talk about the Farm Bill, ARPA, and debt ceiling. Afterwards, they attended a press conference hosted by the @leagueofcities and U.S. Department of Commerce Committee Chair U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (WA) on the need for Congress to act on rail safety. #commerce #railsafety #gacities

Federal partnerships and investments in communities across Georgia for infrastructure and workforce development was the focus of meetings today in Washington, DC.

@CollegePark_Ga and GMA’s 3rd Vice President Mayor Bianca Motley Broom, City of College Park, GA and GMA CEO and Executive Director Larry Hanson met with Rey Benitez and Sarah Tolchin with the Office of U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff as well as Tyler Hofmann-Reardon, legislative assistant for transportation policy, for Senator Raphael Warnock.

The @CityOfBogart maximized the use of their @WhiteHouse #ARPA funds to serve residents. Examples include: creating grants for services and business impacted by COVID-19, purchasing life-saving equipment for the fire department, upgrading the computers in the Bogart Library, and more.
