Does anyone else obsessively say “thank you” to anyone who works with the public bc you know they probably deal with so many shitty people or is it just me??
I really don’t get the whole Diet Coke craze because if my highly advanced palette picks up on the tiniest bit of aspartame I’m throwing shit at the walls
When the actual 9/11 happened, trump went on the radio and celebrated the fact that he now owned the tallest building in New York because the towers fell.
She gave $200 million in bonuses, not $20. And she highlighted that to pressure other artists to be more generous with her bonuses.
But y'all are so brain-broken that you think her setting the standard of "if the tour grosses more, they get more of a bonus" is a bad thing.
I have been a pretty committed atheist for decades now.
But Dolly Parton is in heaven with Jesus and I will not be taking questions on this.
I don't want to hear about the vastness of the cosmos or the absence of empirical evidence or any of my own arguments that I have made confidently for years. None of that applies here. We are making an exception and the exception is Dolly.
If there is a heaven and Jesus is up there he has been waiting for her specifically and there was a whole moment when she arrived. That's just what happened. I don't know how to explain the theological mechanics of it and I'm not going to try.
Some people just live in a way that makes the universe owe them something on the other side and Dolly Parton sent books to millions of children she never met and asked doctors to use her dying body to save strangers and wrote Jolene and I Will Always Love You and funded research that helped create a Covid vaccine and just kept going like that for decades.
If heaven has any kind of selection process she didn't even have to apply.
I'm still an atheist about everything else. The rules still apply across the board.
Except Dolly.
Dolly is with Jesus now and that's just a fact and the cosmos can deal with it.
The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.
What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. 🦋
I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things. 💖 @dollyparton
Thrilled that people are going to the movies, not so thrilled that it feels like many of them are massive losers incapable of sitting silently without a second screen for a few hours
