Every NZer should be voting as if they are just one Covid infection away from long-term health problems that would see them having to survive on a disability benefit.
I say this as someone who can no longer work due to ME/CFS which is like Long Covid before it was cool.
It's unclear why there is one rule for Covid-19 (namely, that there should be no rules) and one for every other public safety issue.

"Nature is the great teacher and always has been. Shakyamuni went to the jungle to find its teachings, Moses up the mountain, Jesus to the desert, and Muhammad to the caves. Sadly, we forget this, so it is important to have a practice that reminds us again." — @ClarkStrand
everything might not turn out like you imagined, but it'll all end up okay. Because you will post rationalize your decisions and narrativize your conditions into a palatable story you can live with/die to
Grateful for people like Ed Yong, writing these stories with such care and understanding. I have wanted to write about my fatigue for years but the brain fog and exhaustion make it hard, so I’ll just share Ed’s articles instead:
🛑I wrote about what “fatigue” really means for people with long COVID and ME/CFS, and why this profoundly debilitating symptom is so often misunderstood and trivialized.

@chamfy A gift from a good friend in Lhasa who I used to hike with every weekend. His father painted it, and he gave it to me as a present when I had to leave. Reminds me of all the great hikes we did around Lhasa. Only just got it framed last year!
@juliefairey I'm lucky to have flexible hours so if I show up 10-20 minutes late to the office it's no big deal. I'm looking forward to it going back to normal though!
