@WilliamR1961 @mtracey I don't give credence to what 'man' says as they all sit in the exact same boat as Ms. Clancy, guilty before God. This is why I originally challenged the eye for eye concept. That is a 'human' concept.

From my perspective, this is a family matter. Not a public one.

@WilliamR1961 @mtracey The writer calls them commandments and he determined the order in which they were written, not God. The writer also chose the phrase, "God said."

Therefore, when I read a story within about slavery or eye for an eye, I never attribute it to God. That's the writers perspective.

@WilliamR1961 @mtracey The commandments weren't given as a guide, but more so a mirror. I believe Paul refers to it all as the 'ministry of death.'

All of the 'eye for an eye' and 'thou shalt not,' wasn't written as a guide to follow. Those who read it that way fall into what Paul calls a 'curse.'

@WilliamR1961 @mtracey I understand what you're saying, but I never read the bible through that lens, so I don't think of the stories in terms of 'concepts' and 'rules of conduct.' The same spirit of people that penned slavery are the same that penned eye for an eye, and Jesus corrected them both.
