The Courage to Be Seen
The soul does not fear the light.
It fears what the light might reveal.
Not because there is shame,
but because, once,
being fully seen
came at a cost.
So it learned to soften its laughter.
To quiet its longing.
To apologise before taking up space.
To love
with one hand still reaching for the door.
To leave every door slightly open,
in case leaving became necessary.
Until one day,
hiding begins to feel heavier than honesty.
Not because the fear has disappeared,
but because the soul has grown tired
of carrying a life
that no longer fits.
Courage is rarely loud.
More often,
it is the quiet decision
to stop editing the soul.
To let joy arrive without apology.
To speak before certainty.
To love without first measuring the risk.
To stand where the light falls,
and remain.
The world may never understand
every colour your soul was given.
That was never the invitation.
The invitation was simply this:
Live
without hiding.
The heart
is an unusual place.
It keeps
what it cannot use,
and what it cannot bear
to lose.
It remembers
the first hand
that made it feel safe,
and the first words
that made it question
its worth.
Some mornings
it opens
towards the light.
Some evenings
it sits
with old shadows.
Neither makes it
less true.
Trees do not apologise
for the rings
formed during drought.
Rivers
do not hide
the stones
that taught them
how to bend.
Why then
do we spend
so much of our lives
trying to become
only the parts
that shine?
Perhaps
the deepest peace
is not found
when every shadow
has disappeared,
but when the heart
finally stops asking
half of itself
to leave.

We have been taught to fear the dark.
To imagine that monsters wait where the light cannot reach.
I have come to suspect the opposite.
Darkness does not reveal monsters.
It reveals the absence of witnesses.
In the daylight, we become fluent in reflection. We learn ourselves through borrowed eyes—through praise, expectation, disappointment, and desire. Piece by piece, we mistake those reflections for an identity, until we no longer know where their vision ends and our own begins.
Then the lights go out.
The audience disappears.
The mirrors fall silent.
And for the first time, there is no one left to tell us who we are.
That is the true terror of darkness.
Not that we cannot see.
But that we can.
Without the comforting light of another’s approval, every borrowed certainty begins to dissolve. Every mask loses the face it was trying to convince. What remains is neither beautiful nor monstrous.
Only honest.
Perhaps that is why so many flee the darkness.
Not because it hides the truth—
but because it leaves us alone with nothing else.
I try
to breathe in
but all my
scared thoughts
scream into the darkness
The night exhales
a rumbling silence
that echoes
across my heart
Dreams & memories
are like waves
crashing into me
and the chaos
only subsides...
When you hold my hand

- To The One Who Reads Me -
You’re not reading me, you’re reading that string inside yourself, I accidentally touched, the one never plucked before.
My words are only bridges and you’re the deep current beneath - as I passed, I saw my own reflection tremble for the first time, whole, in your clear abyss.
I wrote of roses because you were already a rose - only lacking a name to turn pain into rhyme, blood into sheen.
Now, close me.
You’ve already taken from my petals, the key you always owned. Open the door - outside, it’s your own spring.

eyes I've never known before hold my gaze prisoner
a distant part of my mind marvels at the ease with which it promises a quiet dreamscape up in the clouds
while #chaos reigns front and center fighting to break free to surrender in hypnotic depths
@SofiaKardelis It really showed your authentic, unapologetic spirit. There's a magnetic quality to your writing that I really admire. Much love to you, Sofia❤️
You can feel the vibrations of it when the mind finds those precious moments to be still. The strands of #chaos that claw at the structure you have built your life on. War is waged, skirmishes of perception. Troops of clouds and knights swirling in the grass at your feet.

His fragile world
a splintered scene—
glass still in the air
dreams sliced to shards
sharp as #chaos
Echoes in her
linguistic fragments
of their fractured mosaic

Morning doesn't ask
Who failed yesterday.
It simply opens the sky
One quiet color at a time.
The light finds every window,
Even the ones left closed for too long.
Take one small step.
Then another.
Hope is rarely loud.
It arrives like sunrise
Slow, steady,
And impossible to stop.

If pain happens to us, we call it pain,
but if the same pain happens to someone else, we call it their fate.
That’s how the world sees through different eyes —
sympathy for self, but judgment for others.
True humanity begins when we feel others’ pain as our own.
Mind drifts to the next moment when not ruminating about the past..
Restless mind obscures Self..
Self Awakening requires stillness— when still, mind effortlessly glides to the Heart..
When the racing mind loses itself in the still heart, Truth wins..!
one thing I’ve come to realize is that it wasn’t always the people in past relationships that hurt me
I hurt me
