@TheArmedSquid@UDouvee@TheAKGuy The central point of the discussion is the militia. That's why I posted my comment: to see if anyone would consider the first clause of the 2nd amendment. It's nice that some like the second clause, but the Founders include both clauses for some important reasons.
@ussexitstrategy@TheAKGuy I wish more people took the militia seriously. It's in the second amendment for a reason. The Founders thought it necessary to security of a free state. The Left hates the idea of an armed, organized citizenry, but conservatives refuse to even consider it as a possibility.
@TheArmedSquid@UDouvee@TheAKGuy Shouldn't we make one? Failing to meet for muster or failing to have the proper equipment was subject to a fine when the USA took militia duty seriously. But that was a long time ago, when America was more of a republic than it is today.
@Jacky1507@TheAKGuy Ballots are also dangerous. They put into power the people who give orders to the guys with the guns & badges. Maybe we should prohibit drug addicts from voting too?
@UDouvee@TheAKGuy Sure. That's why they wrote it. To be irrelevant.
Since you know they wrote irrelevant things into amendments, how did you figure that first clause was the irrelevant one rather than the second?
@T_Whiz@TheAKGuy A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state... forget it. It's apparently beyond you.
The people who say they support the 2nd amendment support the second half and would never dream of being the militia that might secure their own liberty.
@T_Whiz@TheAKGuy Now we are getting somewhere.
2nd amendment supporters should implement the whole amendment instead of accepting the Left's narrative that "well-regulated" means gun control. It means every able-bodied citizen is to own firearms and train under their elected captains.
@Elkvisgtw@JasonSt47852809@TheAKGuy Does that help create a well-regulate militia or not?
It would be better to have citizens who can be the well-regulated militia that is necessary for the security of a free state.
@JasonSt47852809@TheAKGuy We agree it means well-maintained and orderly. Are drug-users that?
The militia is the people in it. If individuals are disordered, what will the militia be?
@peterawolf Napoleon the Corsican artillery officer. Stalin (Dzhugashvili) the Georgian bank robber. Hamilton the Caribbean bastard.
