📢 How to Test MCC at Stores for Maximum Benefit

Lately, many “Presidents” in RCGV have been asking and posting: “What’s the MCC code for Store A? What’s the MCC code for Store B?” — in order to pick the right card for optimal cashback.

Today, here’s a very handy tip to share:

✅ Step 1: Register for a Cake Debit card. No need to load money onto it right away.

✅ Step 2: Go to the store where you want to swipe the POS, or if testing online, use the Cake card to swipe or enter the card details online and see what MCC code the POS displays.

✅ Step 3: Once you know the MCC, choose the credit card that offers cashback for that category and proceed with the payment.

💡 Pro tips:
•When dining out or having coffee, you can “pretend to be clueless,” hand over the Cake card to check the MCC first, and then decide how to pay the bill.
•Sometimes, if you’re “lucky” and the MCC shows 5812 (Dining), you’ll still get consistent cashback.

🚨 Additionally:
•If you’re using a VIB SuperCard, bring it along. Swipe it first — if the POS accepts it and shows a favorable MCC, change your cashback category in the app before paying.
•If the POS doesn’t accept it, consider another option.
•Use a KBank card to optimize payments, as KBank supports a wide range of MCCs, allowing you to fully enjoy the 10% cashback per month
