Beds Equal Dreams is a ministry of Harrison Church. We provide beds to children who do not have a bed to call their own. Giving every child a chance to dream.
Beds Equal Dreams had our fall bed distribution on December 3rd. It was a fabulous day for our volunteers and the families we were able to serve. We gave out 44 beds with bedding to children from Charlotte Mecklenburg School system and Brookstone School.

Recently someone asked why we ask the families to give us $10 for a bed when we are donating it to them. The answer is simple - dignity. We want the parents to be able to tell the children they bought the bed for them. We then give them a gift card for $10. @harrisonumc
Yesterday we gave out 20 beds, mattresses, and bedding to children from CMS elementary schools. Many have never slept in a bed of their own. May they now rest peacefully. We received this poster from one of the schools. #GivingEveryChildAChanceToDream @harrisonumc

If you have built beds with us, donated bedding to us, helped load beds onto trucks or cars with us, or have just prayed for us- today you made a child's life better. This Christmas 25 children will sleep in their own bed, many for their first time, because of you. TY.
What a great opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Grab a name. Buy the bedding. Drop it off. Give it out with a bed. Imagine never having your own bed. #givingeverychildachancetodream
This is a good list of what it takes to get a bed loaded and on its way for a child to sleep on their own bed, some for the first time in their life. It takes a village. https://t.co/iu6CjctS6O
Thanks for the shoutout @latestbylauren and @charlotteagenda . In early 2021 we will be doing a bed distribution in partnership with @abetterworldclt . “Giving every child a chance to dream”. @harrisonumc https://t.co/l4dWJa2yGc
Yesterday we gave out 16 of the 19 beds and bedding we had planned on distributing. We received the attached thank you note. The notes say it all. We are always disheartened when a family doesn’t show. With notes like these we realize we can only do what we are called to do.
Yesterday we had one of our most efficient focused Build A Bed events since our inception. First shift knocked all the hard stuff out - routing and sanding - so all that was left was testing the fit and banding it together. Several new folks showed up and made a big difference.
