Bottom line for the summer: No more excuses about working out. Ultimately, it’s your team. Take ownership of it!
Great Team= Summer workouts are player led/productive
Good team= Only coaches get players excited about summer workouts
Bad team= Players hate/avoid summer workouts
The person is always more important than the player. Developing better people should be your #1 commitment. Sports have a very short life span. Development, relationships & education lasts forever. Seeing kids learn, grow, develop & become should be what all coaches strive for!
Qualifiers for next week's state track and field championships were announced today, and Sumner County is well represented.
Nine of the county's 10 schools have at least one athlete going for gold, and a total of 43 athletes are headed to Murfreesboro.

The road to the State Championships continues this afternoon. Keaton Campbell will compete in the discus and pole vault, and @NoahWatson05 will compete in the long jump.
@CoachDistance We have a great group of upperclassmen boys that will leave a void over the next two years. At the start of the season, we challenged our Young Guns to use track season as a catalyst and take ownership of their running this season. They’ve more than stepped up!
@wcsPageRacing Y’all too! Section three is tough enough without you. I can’t imagine how fast it’ll take to get to State in the 800m for the next few years.
We had a big night at the Great 8! Morgan Page placed third in the 400m in 58.17, sophomore Garrett Tunks won the 800m in 1:55 with fellow sophomore Wesley Luisi running 1:57 to place third. And Jamison Stenzel and Tristan Gould ran 9:31 to place second and third in the 3200m.
