In this thread I am going to explain how to perform the upbcancel. I will discuss some things most players don't know and even bust a myth people have believed for a long time.๐งต
This is even more true due to the nature of melee; we don't have referees and we don't have a way to directly implement rule changes like this into the game. We are a community, not a monolith. If someone is pushing the limits set by their community, they'll push their way out.
This just makes me realize that the ruleset for "rising pound" needs to be fixed, "TO discretion: is such a dumb rule for this, the only truly fair way is an EXACT number.
Example: "don't go over 10 rising pounds before touching the ground or you lose the game if it goes to time"

It's pretty simple. If you wanna compete in a smash game you play ultimate. If you want to fight shadow realm battles vs autists at the very limit of human ability you play the "game" which used to be smash bros melee
@summoningsalt Seeing the responses to this has kind of changed my mind. The number of people who sincerely don't understand agency or logic means you might actually have a moral imperative to tie yourself to the tracks.
The web is disappearing ๐ณ๏ธ
According to a Pew Research Center report, 26% of pages from 2013-2023 are no longer accessible.
But thatโs not the whole story.
In a new study published in Internet Archive's book, VANISHING CULTURE, data scientists working with the Wayback Machine have found:
16% have been restored through the Wayback Machine.
56% are preserved before they disappear.
Preservation is the remedy for cultural loss.
