🇮🇱 Smotrich: Christianity is “a religion invented by man”

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has turned to theology, arguing that both Christianity and Islam developed around the assumption that the Jewish people would remain in exile.

On Christianity, he says the Church responded to Israel’s return by changing its theology:

“You know, a religion invented by man can also change its conception.”

Smotrich argues Islam has struggled to make the same adjustment because it lacks Christianity’s centralized ecclesiastical structure.

Calling Christianity man-made is quite a statement from a senior minister in a country whose strongest international constituency includes tens of millions of evangelical Christians.
