And with that comes one of the most memorable lines in Nigerian political history: “When the come comes to become, they will know that we, the men of timber and calibre, and of caterpillars and bulldozers, have come to stop all stoppables and bulldoze all bulldoze-ables.” — K. O. Mbadiwe. 😂
I’ve shared this story before. 😂
When I was in camp in Jalingo, Taraba State, a lady saw me drinking Fura and Nunu with nuts. She asked if she could have a taste, and I allowed her. She loved it.
She asked how much I got it for, and when I told her the price, she said it was expensive. So I started buying it for her every time I got mine.
She went on to tell people in our platoon that I liked her. Her reason? Because I kept getting her Fura every time. 😂
Meanwhile, from my own perspective, I was simply seeing a less-privileged girl who couldn’t afford to spend ₦1,500 on Fura every day.
It might the same for you too, bro might just be buying food out of benevolent and you are here thinking he likes you.
Tinubu has been away from the seat of power in Abuja for 36 days today: 30 days in Europe enjoying himself on vacation and another 6 days in Lagos chilling at home! Talk about an absentee president! #TinubuMustGo
I have confirmed that the least room in this hotel is currently 700K per night.
And if you check the cs and qts, 85% of the people that said they have stayed in this hotel, including those that stayed for weeks, are unverified accounts.
Continue looking down on unverified accounts😂😂
On a job in Saudi Arabia some years ago, we were to travel at night with work colleagues to another city, and I asked if it was ok?
They all smiled and said, “Yusuf, this is not Nigeria”
Right then, the fear of bandits, kidnappers or their likes, pot-holes instantly went away.
We all even slept through the journey and arrived around 4am i think.
First few days in London, some times I’d rush home to charge my phone, later on, my phone could reach 1% and I’d still not be bothered, coz I know I could always charge it on whenever i wanted.
The fear of one’s fridge items getting spoiled, or planning your day around when electricity would be brought doesn’t even exist in developed countries.
And dont think achieving these few i highlighted is difficult, countries way poorer than Nigeria have achieved them, but with good leadership! 📝
Any reform wey no improve your life for 3 years still won’t improve your life in the next 3 years. Use your head; no let them scam you two times. 🤦🏾♂️
Wallahi, when you tell some people that you’re not driven by money, they look at you like you’re crazy. They simply cannot believe that someone can have ambitions beyond getting rich. For me life is bigger than money. Some of us are driven by purpose, impact, service, legacy, knowledge, and the desire to leave the world better than we found it.
When we were in University, the best phones were not up to N150k. The money we use to buy phones today, are what men were using to buy cars then.
E reach our turn to be adult, everything just hard
I have never read where GEJ is being attributed the failures of Yar’Adua, despite serving as his Vice President.
I don’t see people handing over the failures of the Jonathan administration to Namadi Sambo, who served as Vice President throughout that administration.
I don’t see people blaming Osinbajo for everything Buhari’s administration did, despite the fact that he served as Vice President for eight years and was deeply involved in several of the administration’s policies and programmes.
So why is Atiku Abubakar’s case suddenly different?
I grew up in Rivers State, and I became politically conscious at a very young age. So when I see Rotimi Amaechi doing this, it brings back memories of a leadership style I watched closely and experienced as a young Rivers lad. To me, this doesn’t feel performative; it feels familiar.
As Governor of Rivers State, Amaechi would get on his power bike and ride around the city, seeking a firsthand feel for the pulse of the people. During periods of fuel scarcity, he would visit random petrol stations himself, confronting those who took advantage of the situation to hike prices and exploit ordinary Nigerians.
It is refreshing to see that this instinct for firsthand engagement with the people has not changed. And I am particularly elated to see our Waziri on the ride with him.
Leadership is not always about grand speeches and convoys. Sometimes, it is about getting close enough to the people to see, hear and understand what they are experiencing.
That is leadership with a heart.
