This life sha.
There hasn't been electricity in my neighborhood since early yesterday evening.
So we ran the inverter all night until this morning, when the batteries went down.
We have been in darkness for about 1 hour.
My children are complaining.
No be their fault.
End.
Things I’ve never seen in my life.
An Albino’s obituary (they don’t die, they vanish)
An ambulance in a fuel station. (They are probably running on the patient’s blood)

This reminds me of something that happened in my estate. 😂
When I first moved in, the estate was still very new. There were barely any shops around. If you wanted pepper, tomatoes, fish, ponmo, vegetables or even my beloved iru, you had to travel all the way to the market and spend almost ₦2,000 on transport before buying anything.
Then one day, a woman opened a kiosk.
Omo, we were happy! 😂
She solved a major problem, so naturally everybody started buying from her.
As business picked up, she started behaving like she had a monopoly.
She wouldn't open until 1 p.m. or sometimes 2 p.m.
Her prices? Omo... as if she was importing tomatoes from Dubai. 😂 Everything was almost double or triple the normal price.
One morning, I waited till almost 12 noon. Madam still no show.
I got frustrated, entered a bike and said, "Bros, abeg carry me go market."
As we were going, I was busy complaining about the woman.
The bike man interrupted me and said,
"Oga, why you dey go market? One new shop don open. Dem get everything, and dem dey even cheaper."
I said, "Turn this bike!" 😂
When I got there, I was shocked.
Cleaner shop. Better arrangement. Everything I needed. Cheaper prices. And they open by 7 a.m.
I became an instant customer.
Now, every time I pass the first woman's shop, she'll call me,
"Brother, you no dey buy from me again?" 😭😂
I just smile and keep walking.
In my mind, I'm saying,
"Madam, once the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, they no go back Egypt." 😂
One wedding my band played still cracks me up. 😭😂
MC said,
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the couple's first dance." ❤️
DJ pressed play...
🎵 End of the Road — Boyz II Men.
Band members looked at ourselves like...
"Oga... this na breakup song o." 😂
We quickly stopped him.
He apologized and tried again.
🎵 My Love — Westlife.
Again we rushed him.
"Bros! This one no be first dance song too." 😭
At this point I was beginning to sweat on behalf of the couple.
Third attempt...
🎵 Iyawo Mi — Timi Dakolo.
Finally!
We all smiled.
"Thank God, this one na correct choice."
Only for the next song to enter...
🎵 "E ba mi so fun baby yen ko ma lo..." 😭😭😂
Omo, na there I collect microphone.
I just signaled my band,
"Abeg... Perfect by Ed Sheeran."
After that...
African Queen.
Case closed.
Na that day I fully realize say the decline in standards for this country don really go deep.
Because how are you a DJ and you don't even understand the meaning or context of the songs you're playing?
No be every sweet melody be love song.
Some songs are literally about heartbreak, begging someone not to leave, or the end of a relationship.
If you're going to entertain people professionally, knowing your music is part of the job. No be just to carry laptop dey press space bar. 😭😂
