I speak for a lot of men when I say this:

A man can be running on 4 hours of sleep.

He can stay up until 2 AM and still wake up at 6.

He can have more bills than money in his account.

He can be buried in debt.

He can be broke as hell.

He can be carrying problems he hasn't told a single person about.

He can be lonely.

He can feel like nobody notices his effort and nobody is coming to save him.

Yet somehow, he keeps moving.

He goes to work.
He shows up.
He keeps trying.
He keeps building.

Because deep down, most men carry a stubborn belief that things will get better.

Not today.
Maybe not tomorrow.

But eventually.

The business will grow.
The debt will get paid.
The hard work will pay off.
The bad season will pass.

It's not always confidence.

Sometimes it's pure faith.

Faith that if they keep showing up, keep grinding, and refuse to quit, one day everything they've been fighting for will finally work out.

And honestly, that quiet faith is what keeps a lot of men going.

Ridicule this if you wish but I feel genuinely emotional writing this.

Today, I talked to Manchester United about cancelling our memberships.

Watching Manchester United play is my pride and joy. A pride and enjoy I’ve shared with two children who love this club just as much as I do. Who have had many days and nights watching their idols and waving as Fred the Red walks by. Two children whose wardrobe of clothes are barely worn because they live in United kits.

How did I even get to this place?

The thought of not watching Manchester United play for an unknown amount of time, or having watched my last game at Old Trafford, is hard to conceive.

@FabrizioRomano said United may not sign another midfielder. Others have reported us signing ‘one, maybe two, more players’. No sugar coating — that is failure. Abject failure.

In isolation, we may be slightly stronger than last season. But after seeing how our rivals have strengthened, we could actually begin this season in a weaker position relative to them, especially with European football to play. That equals moving backwards!

I will ‘judge at the end of the window’ and I hope @ManUtd are just quiet, journalists wrong, and @INEOS pull some surprises out of the bag.

But if not, I’m ready to cheer the boys on from the pub and give up something I love.
